Functional Model
PCIE2PCI104This passive expansion card allows developers to install PCI104 or PC/104plus cards into a universal PCI bus system. The adapter is equipped with a stacking connector.
Functional Description
Specifications
Compatible with standards: Universal 3.3V or 5V PCI slot
Industrial temperature operating range: -40 to 85°C
Connectors/Interfaces: Includes one shielded PCI104 120-pin stacking connector for connecting to the host CPU board, and PC/104 64-pin and 40-pin passive stacking connector models
Dimensions: 4.913" wide x 4.200" high
Standard Usage
Insert the adapter into the desired slot in the host system. Connect the test PC/104plus card to the connector. No additional configuration is required. (Note: Each adapter card can only accommodate one PC/104plus card. Ensure that the PC/104+ card under test supports the bus voltage used by the adapter's PCI host system. Refer to your system manual.)
Special Requirements
You may encounter situations where the test card cannot be set to ID0, which is the default configuration of the PCI to PC/104 plus adapter. In such rare cases, you will need the following information to configure the adapter for your specific setup.
REQ, GNT, CLK, and IDSEL Selection
Ensure that each card in the PC/104plus stack has a unique set of signals (REQX, GNTX, CLKX, and IDSELX). Multiple copies of these signals exist on the PC/104+ bus, numbered 0 to 3. The REQ, GNT, CLK, and IDSEL jumper blocks route PCI signals to their equivalent PC/104+ signals. If your test card is configured with a different ID, you will need to move the resistors on the adapter to match that ID. For example, if the PC/104 card is set to ID3, move the resistors at the REQ, GNT, CLK, and IDSEL positions on the card surface to row 3 to connect the signals to the test card.
Interrupt Selection
In most cases, the default configuration is sufficient, routing PCI INTA, B, C, and D interrupt lines to the INTA, B, C, and D lines on the PC/104 plus card. If necessary, you can choose to route PCI interrupts to the PCI104 or PC/104 plus interrupt lines via the INTX block. To change the default selection, jumper the corresponding PCI interrupt to route to the INTA, B, C, and D signals on the PC/104plus connector. For example, jumper the adapter INTA C position to route INTA to the PC/104+ NTC card. Accessories
No accessories included.
Software
No driver installation is required for this card.
Software Interface: No register operations are needed. After installing a PMC mezzanine card onto this interface card, no driver modifications are required.
